Ambo is the capital of West Shewa Zone. It is situated 125 km to West of Finfinne.  Ambo hot spring is one of a few developed destinations in Oromia.  Ambo is well-known, because of its hot springs and mineral water.  Ambo Hot Spring bath and swimming pool of mineral water are maintained by a former Ethiopia hotel, nowadays privatized, which has been used for recreational and therapeutic attraction for  holiday and weekend visitors from Finfinne and others.
