Walmel waterfall is found in Bale zone Dalo Mana woreda in Melka Amana Kebele at about 125km from  the Zonal capital Robe town and 24km from Manna town on the road to Mada walabu woreda. The waterfall has spectacular views because it is covered by indigenous forest. Under the water fall there is big natural cave called Sof-Umar. Based on local legends, the cave was used as travel road for Mada walabu  historical site and used as a shelter in war and served as centre of Muda celebration during the reign of Haile Selasse.  The name Walmel was derived from the big and known river Walmel.
